Part 1: The Kilimanjaro Climb (Marangu Route)
Day 1: Marangu Gate (1,870m) to Mandara Hut (2,700m)
Hike Time: 3–4 hours | Distance: 8 km | Habitat: Rain Forest
Details: After breakfast in Moshi/Arusha, drive to Marangu Gate for registration. Begin trekking through a lush, green rainforest filled with unique flora and primates like the Colobus monkey. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Mandara Hut (2,700m) to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Hike Time: 5–6 hours | Distance: 12 km | Habitat: Moorland
Details: Leave the rainforest behind and enter the stunning moorland zone. You will catch your first clear, spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Arrive at the bustling Horombo Hut community for a hot meal and rest.
Day 3: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Kibo Hut (4,703m)
Hike Time: 5–6 hours | Distance: 10 km | Habitat: Alpine Desert
Details: Cross the lunar landscape of the "Saddle" between Mawenzi and Kibo. The air becomes noticeably thinner as you approach the alpine desert. Reach Kibo Hut early to eat, hydrate, and sleep before the midnight summit push.
Day 4: SUMMIT DAY! Kibo Hut (4,703m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & down to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Hike Time: 6–8 hours up, 4–5 hours down | Distance: 6 km up, 16 km down | Habitat: Arctic/Stone Scree
Details: Wake up at midnight. Hike up steep scree under the stars to Gilman’s Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa! Celebrate the sunrise, take photos, and descend back to Kibo for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut.
Day 5: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Marangu Gate (1,870m) – Transfer to Hotel
Hike Time: 4–5 hours | Distance: 20 km
Details: A steady descent back through the rainforest to Marangu Gate. Receive your official summit certificates! Your private vehicle from Tanzania Daily Tours & Safari will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha for a hot shower and celebration.
Part 2: The 2-Day Wildlife Safari
Day 6: Moshi/Arusha to Tarangire National Park (Game Drive)
Details: Depart from your hotel in the morning and head to Tarangire National Park, famous for its iconic giant Baobab trees and massive herds of elephants. Enjoy a full-day game drive and lunch overlooking the Tarangire River.
Accommodation: Mid-range Safari Lodge/Tented Camp in Karatu or near the park (Full Board).
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Moshi/Arusha
Details: Wake up early and descend 600 meters into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater for a breathtaking half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the best place in Tanzania to spot the endangered Black Rhino and see the Big Five in a single morning. In the afternoon, enjoy a picnic lunch before driving back to Arusha/Moshi.
